SMILING RAPIST SENTENCED TO 24 YEARS IN PRISON

This smirking sex offender has been convicted for 24 years in jail for raping one 17-year-old woman and tried to attack another at knife point.

He was described as a 'dangerous, calculating and predatory rapist' who created the image he was the 'pillar of the community' by helping out at the church.

The court heard of how Oluwadamilare Bayewu, from Fairlawn in Greenwich, first grabbed a 17-year-old at knife point on December 2, but she managed to break free and escape.

A week later, just in the same area of Binsey Walk, Thamesmead, he grabbed a victim, also 17, as she got off the bus at 7 pm.

He put a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her before marching her into a bin storage area under a walkway. He then raped her in a secluded area.

He was tracked down after his DNA linking him to the attacks was recovered.

He was arrested on December 16, and was placed on an identity parade where he was picked out by the victim whom he had attempted to rape.

He was today sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court to 24 years in prison.

He will serve a minimum of 16 years in prison and will them be on license for eight years.

80-year-old man charged for driving a car covered in snow

An 80-year-old man was charged after driving a car that was almost completely covered in snow with only a portion of the driver's side windshield cleared for vision, police said.

Ontario Provincial Police said Wednesday the man received a $110 ticket after an officer spotted a car resembling a pile of snow on the road in Brussels, Ontario on Tuesday.

The OPP posted a picture of the car to twitter and wrote 'Can't make this stuff up.'

'Driver charged today in Brussels actually driving like this.'

The man, whose name was not released, was charged with having a obstructed view.

Police spokesman James Stanley said the man said he was too old and weak to brush it off. The officer cleared the snow from the man's car and let him on his way.

'He was going for a short drive in town. I understand his excuse was he was too old, too weak to brush off the snow.' Stanley said.

Journalist Filming documentary robbed by migrant in Calais

The shocking moment migrants armed with a big big knife and pepper spray attacked journalists in Calais' notorious Jungle on Saturday.

Dutch filmmaker Maaike Engels was filming with her colleague Teun Voeten when he as attacked and pushed into a tent by the three young men as they attempted to steal his camera.

Ms. Engels continued to film even as she tried to fight the youngsters off, kicking one when he approached her with a knife before the three attackers were chased off by other refugees who threw stones at them.

Following the incident Ms Engels, who was in France filming a new documentary called Calais: Welcome to the Jungle wrote on her Facebook: 'Within every community, among the good ones, you'll always find a couple of a**holes.

'The jungle is no exception. But I guess living under such conditions the less creative, intelligent and ambitious are very likely to become small criminals, because they've got nothing higher to aim at.'

Organisers of this years's Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro used murdering South African runner Oscar Pistorius to advertise this summer's game in a highly embarrassing gaffe.

MISSING UKRAINIAN BOY, 10, BELIEVED TO HAVE BEEN KIDNAPPED FOUND LIVING IN A SHACK HE BUILT HIMSELF

A 10-year-old boy who went missing from his home in Ukraine six months ago has been found in a homemade shack by the Dnipro river banks where he had been living by eating scraps in bins and recycling junk to earn a little money.

Bogdan Furman vanished from his home in Cherkasy, a city in central Ukraine, and went off the radar despite a massive police search.

Police believed he had fallen prey to a paedophile killer, and prepared the boy's family for the worst.

But January 2016, police found his hideout in a shabby shack hidden by the snow on the banks of river Dnipro.

The boy told police that he ran away on his own free will because he was unhappy at home and often beaten up by his drunken mother and father.

'Basically he was an unhappy child. He wasn't taken by a peadophile - he ran away to try to find some happiness,' Aleksandr Vilganiuk, a police spokesman, said after interviewing him.

In the streets, Furman befriended a 24-year-old homeless man who became a sort of second father to him. 'He was like a father to me, I was calling him my dad,' he said.

'He always asked me if I was hungry, always was worrying if I am cold,' he said. When I was living with my parents every time I would be a little late from school my real father would beat me up.'

Bogdan's older sister tried to defend their mother.

'I can understand my mother, she is not a bad person, but she would get drunk occasionally, she didn't have an easy life.'

Nadya Furman, his mother, said; ' I am very thankful to the police and all the people that were looking for my boy, I am very grateful for his return and I want to change for the better.'

Bogdan has been returned to his family....but the social services are keeping a close eye on him.

343KG ARGENTINIAN WOMAN PLEAD TO GET 50KG TUMOUR THAT CAUSED HER TO GAIN EXCESSIVE WEIGHT REMOVED

A morbidly obese Argentinian woman with an 8 stone (50kg) tumour  in her leg has made a public plea for her life after being told she is too heavy to be taken to hospital for treatment.

Isabella Amaral, who weighs 54 stones (343kg), says her weight gain spiralled because of the gigantic lymphoma in her left leg, which needs urgent treatment.

The 30-year-old depends entirely on her friends and family for support and urgently has accused medics of waiting for her to die as she is being refused transport to hospital.

Amaral told local media: ' They say it is impossible to move somebody of my weight in an ambulance, but I know it's a lie because they have done it with other people in my condition, they are leaving me to die!'

Isabella is unable to move from the bed and constantly needs care from her mother, two brothers and family friends, who help to bathe, feed her and keep her company day and night.

However it is understood that the government of Rosario in the Argentine province of Santa Fe, are involved in a dispute and are impeding her from being taken to hospital in an ambulance.

According to Argentinian news site Cronica, Isabella went to hospital repeatedly when she was mobile, but they did not operate on the tumour in time.

She says she now needs specialist care that she can't afford to pay fro in a private clinic and her hometown of Rosario doesn't have the resources to pay for the treatment she needs.

'I have no life, I breathe because the air is free, I need to be transferred immediately', she added in an interview. Isabella said that nobody wants to take the responsibility for operating on her because she 'frightens the doctors and they don't want to see me'.

She said that her tumour slowed her down and eventually immobilized her and that her weight had spiralled at the same time.

'I don't want to be evaluated over  the phone or from a photo,' the distraught woman added.

'I don't believe in the virtual stuff. The doctors who come to my house get scared, they don't even want to look at me, but I want to live, I need my health.'

The distraught young woman has told her story to the media in a bid to get the local government to change their minds and send an ambulance so she can be seen to.

She added: ' I don't want money or donations. I want the whole world to no that they are refusing me the possibility to be attended to like I should be. They are pushing me to my death and they are going to achieve it.'

A cyclist moaning about logs on his bike path was left seemingly calm when he realized that the debris was actually a crocodile or alligator.

The cyclist, wearing a GoPro, is seen riding down a bike path when he begins to complain about logs and debris left in the road.

Suddenly, however as he approaches the roadblock, he realizes that the debris is actually a living reptile.

'I'm sick and tired of people putting these logs across the pa... oh that's a crocodile, Or alligator, Whatever,'

The man believed to be in the United States, took another look at the large reptile sitting on the path and then carried on with his bike ride.

CRUISE SHIP WORKER CRUSHED TO DEATH

Terrifying footage emerged of a 'sheet' of blood pouring down the front of a cruise ship elevator after it apparently crushed an electrician to death.

The electrician - named as Jose Sandoval Opazo, 66, by Miami Dade police - as working on the elevator on Sunday 27th December evening when the accident took place on board the Cruise Ship.

A second person appears to have been inside the elevator, and had to run out through the pouring blood.

described what he witnessed on the ship's 10th floor as the 'nightmare after Christmas'.

'To look and see the elevator with just blood coming don like a sheet, and not stopping... it as a real life scene of The Shining,' he told Fox 4.

Mr Davis, who had treated his wife Susan and their children to a last minute cruise, described the sound as something like 'rainfall'.

Mr. Davis and his family with the other passengers on the 859-foot-long cruise liner were on the final leg of a three-day cruise from Miami.

The exact cause of the accident is still unknown, but an investigation is underway.

RUSSIAN BLOGGER JAILED FOR URGING PEOPLE TO PROTEST AGAINST HIGH TRANSPORT FARES AND CORRUPT OFFICIALS

A blogger has been jailed for five years in Russia for urging people to protest against high transport fares. Vadim Tyumentsev, 35, from the Siberian region of Tomsk, was also banned from using the Internet for three years after his sentence ends.

He had angered local authorities in Tomsk with a series of blogs in which he accused them of corruption and incompetence.

A statement from Tomsk's regional court said Tyumentsev had urged people to overthrow the authorities, a reference to an appeal he made for people to attend an unsanctioned meeting to protest against a rise in local bus fares.

His lawyer said the calls to participate in the rally cannot be deemed extremist and local officials were public figures so liable to receive public criticism according to Russian legislation.

He had also sharply criticized pro-Kremlin separatists in eastern Ukraine, saying he did not see why ordinary Russians should go and fight with them.

The conflict, between pro-Russian militants and Ukraine on the territory of Luhansk and Donetsk regions, has left some 9,000 people dead and more than 20,000 wounded.

In a video post, he had urged people to take hostile action against Ukrainian refugees, complaining about their presence in Tomsk and saying they should be deported.

For that, prosecutors accused him of 'animosity towards citizens residing on the territory of Luhansk and Donetsk regions of Ukraine and of 'inciting racial hatred towards people with refugee status in Russia'.

He said he will appeal after the verdict was made.

The Memorial human rights group said the jail sentence was 'outrageous and called for the verdict to be overturned.

A hi-tech balloon that fills up the stomach and then pops itself after four months could help to counter obesity.

The new type of gastric balloon, which has just been approved for use in the UK, is designed to help those who find it impossible to lose weight through normal diets.

But unlike existing products, no surgery is required to insert or remove it.

Instead, the patient swallows a tiny capsule containing the deflated Elipse balloon, which is made from a delicate polymer film.

Attached to the capsule is a catheter - a thin tube. Once the capsule has reached the stomach, a doctor fills the balloon with water through the catheter and then tugs on the tube to detach it.

The filled Elipse occupies a large part of the stomach, reducing appetite and improving the patient's chances of shedding digestive system and allowing the patient to return to a normal calorie intake.

Most existing gastric balloons rely on a surgeon placing the device in the stomach using an internal probe while the patient is sedated or under anaesthetic.

At the end of its life, it has to be removed the same way. Last year a balloon that can be swallowed, called Obalon became available privately in the UK. Bu it too requires surgical removal.

According to the World Obesity Forum, the number of overweight and obese Britons is set to rise from the current 32million to 36million by 2025, with four million classed as severely obese. Gastric bypass surgery is seen as an effective, if drastic solution but can be too high a risk for extremely large patients.

The Elipse balloon, developed by US firm Allurion Technologies, recently received marketing approval for the UK and Europe.

BABY BORN 12 WEEKS EARLY SO MOTHER COULD START CHEMOTHERAPY, DIES

Heidi Loughlin, 32, discovered she had a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer after falling pregnant with her third child. Doctors discovered her cancer in September after she noticed a rash on her breast while feeding her baby son.

She was given the option of terminating the pregnancy so she could begin aggressive chemotherapy. But she decided to keep her baby and begin a less aggressive form of treatment which is expected to start Wednesday, December 23.

Her baby had to be born 12 weeks prematurely in order for her to be treated for cancer. The baby was delivered by C-section on Dec 11, weighing just 2lb 5oz but died on Saturday.

Ms Loghlin, from Portishead, North Somerset posted a poem dedicated to her daughter on her blog. In it the mother of three wrote:

"Yesterday afternoon out hearts broke in two, For we had to say goodbye to you The pain in my body and heart and my soul feels it will consume me and leave me un-whole"

Writing on her blog after Ally's birth, the mother-of-three said she was "absolutely thrilled" to announce the baby had been born safely.

"She was born today via C-section at 12:27. She came out foot first and is breathing on her own, She weighs 2lb 5ozs, She has a Loughlin (sic) nose and she has more hair than ma".

SHOOTING NEAR A CHILDREN SCHOOL!

Kiev, Ukraine - A 19-year-old migrant worker at the school opened fire on children.

This was reported in the press service of the Office of Police Protection in the Kiev region.

"About 20 hours ago, Irpin City Police Department received a report from an employee of Irpin secondary school. It was reported that the unknown person is on school premises and is violating public order," -said in a statement.

According to eyewitnesses, the yet to be identified person was holding a pistol like object that was directed toward children and shot at them. Then the shooter fled in an unknown direction, but police were able to arrest the attacker in a nearby park.

As it turned out, the man came from Lviv region, during the searching of  the attacker, a "M & R40" air pistol brand and equipped balls caliber of 4.5 mm was seized.

No children was injured in the attack. As a result of the attack, the culprit is facing three to seven years in prison for hooliganism committed with a weapon.

RUSSIAN CHAIN STORE SELLS CHOP BOARD WITH PRESIDENT OBAMA FACE IMPOSED ON A MONKEY

A chopping board with an image of US President Barack Obama as a a monkey, in a store in Tatarstan's main city Kazan and took pictures that went viral. The product features a family of monkeys, with an image of Obama's face superimposed onto that of the smallest monkey.

The upscale Russian store chain on Thursday, December 10, apologised on Thursday for selling the chopping boards after the US embassy reacted furiously.

The store chain also announced it had pulled the item from its shelves, saying it had not been aware of Obama's image. "Sales of the chopping boards have been stopped." Valentina Moiseyeya a spokeswoman for the Bakhetle supermarket chain, Tass agency reported. "We are sorry that such product was on our store shelves. For us it is unacceptable that a store is used as a place for political provocation." Moiseyeva said, adding that the supermarket had lodged a formal complaint against the boards' supplier.

The board is style as a calender for 2016, the year of the monkey according to the Chinese zodiac.

A New York city woman is in jail because of a shocking confession she made to the police authorities.

According to reports, Gabriel Lewis went down to the station to make a report against herself  telling officials "I buried the good girl in me and became a real bad b*tch, that's what they all wanted".

When questioned by police, lewis then proclaimed, "My goal was to infect as many as possible" she explained.

Lewis mother came forward to reveal the real reason why her daughter may commits such an act on humanity, she said:

"My daughter was fiercely molested at the age of 15, by two men while she was at her friend's house. Six months later, she was tested positive for HIV.

Ever since that incident, her whole demeanor changed. She could not live with herself anymore.

When speaking with Lewis, she said: "The pain of knowing my fate was unbearable, and I just couldn't face the world anymore, so as my life became a mess my only joy was to make all men whom I came into contact with pay. The price is death for ruining my life".

Good Samaritan rejected for trying to return money he found to owner

Joe Christie, a musician form London, saw a £10 note fall from a woman's her jacket pocket.

Being a good Samaritan Joe ran up to the woman in an attempt to give back her money. Rather than listen to what he had to say, she turned around and said, "Sorry I am not into black boys". What he did next was what made the post go viral.

The post has since gathered more than 165k likes and been shared over 6500 times.

LITTLE BEAUTIFUL AVA DEFIES DOCTORS TO LEARN TO WALK, ACT AND DANCE THANKS TO HER PROSTHETIC SLIPPERS

Up on stage, six-year-old Ava Bainbridge squeals with delight as she dances.

It is a moment her mother, Gemma Day, 31, never thought she would see.

At 14 months old, Ava had part of both feet amputated after she was suddenly struck down by the deadly infection meningitis.

As she lay in her hospital bed, medics said she may never be able to walk, skip, dance and live her childhood to the full.

But Ava defied doctors to recover, and on the day she was sent home, she stood up. Next, she learned to walk with the help of a pair of $1,300 prosthetic slippers designed with a set of toes.

With the special 'feet', the first to be made for someone so young, Ava now loves to dance, trampoline and take part in drama school.

She has since had another pair or prosthetics made, and continues to be a 'little diva' who loves to perform.

The slippers, which cost $1,300, are put on before ordinary shoes to allow Ava to walk properly.

As her feet grew, she had another pair of the slippers made, and has continued going from strength to strength.

The mother said: ' They are brilliant. They just look so life-like. When she got them on you think she has real feet.

'It's just amazing what they have done for her. When anyone comes to the house she gets out her feet to show them.'

Ava's bravery has just been recognised with a Bravehearts North East award.

This event celebrates young people who have overcome extraordinary problems.

MAN DISVIRGIN WIFE'S NIECES 'TO APPEASE ANGRY GODS' AND POLICE WANTS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT

Edo, Nigeria -- The State Police command has arrested a 28-year-old man, one Blessing Enoyoze, for defiling two of his wife's nieces to allegedly 'appease angry gods'.

It was gathered that the accused reportedly committed the act after he claimed that native doctor told him to sleep with two virgin girls to appease the gods in order for his ailing first son to get better.

The unidentified native doctor, had reportedly told him that his son took ill because his wife slept with another man, adding that the wife who confessed to have cheated, offered to bring two of her nieces to her husband.

Reports indicate that one of the victims, whose name was not mentioned, could not live with the shame, and so called the police.

The wife of the suspect, who anonymously spoke, said she went out the night her husband defiled her nieces, noting that she succumbed to pressure from her husband after she was caught cheating with another man.
